90s Cover Band Live Video Archive: 2016 to 2019

This 90s cover band live video archive covers 2016 to 2019, one chapter in a much larger collection that keeps growing every season we’re out on the road with Britpop Reunion. Rather than tell you how good a night with us sounds, we’d rather just show you, so what follows is genuine footage captured at real weddings, festivals, parties and corporate dos over that four year stretch. Watching a few clips back tends to answer most of the questions people have before booking, particularly around sound quality, stage presence and how the band handles a packed dancefloor. Every show comes with our own PA and lighting rig, plus a group of musicians who’ve spent years reading crowds and adjusting a setlist on the fly. That flexibility is part of what keeps clients coming back to Britpop tribute band Britpop Reunion year after year for their 90s wedding, festival or birthday celebration. Four Years Of Footage From A Working 90s Tribute Band

The Cure, Friday I’m In Love, Live At A 40th Birthday, April 2019

This clip came from a 40th birthday party and the playback sounded strong enough that we decided the whole thing was worth putting online. Friday I’m In Love was written by Robert Smith, Simon Gallup, Porl Thompson, Boris Williams and Perry Bamonte of The Cure, and appeared on their 1992 record Wish, climbing to number 6 on the UK Singles Chart.

The Hospitality Industry Trust brought us up to Scotland for their Awards 25th Anniversary dinner at The Hilton Hotel, where the set ran through The Rembrandts, The Mavericks, Deep Blue Something, Pulp and more besides. Acoustic Set In Staffordshire, February 2019

Andy Starkey performing a stripped back 90’s acoustic set, taking in Don’t Look Back In Anger and Champagne Supernova by Oasis, Laid by James, There She Goes by The La’s, Breakfast At Tiffany’s by Deep Blue Something, Livin’ La Vida Loca by Ricky Martin and Dance The Night Away by The Mavericks. A 40th In Northumberland, August 2018

Suzanne wanted her 40th done properly in 90’s style, and that’s precisely the sort of booking we exist for as a 90s party band. There’s a full vlog covering the trip north and the show itself on our video page, with the set that night including Ready To Go, Cigarettes & Alcohol, Disco 2000 and Put Your Hands Up by Reef.

Ready To Go was written and released by Republica, reaching number 5 in the UK charts in 1996; you can read more on our Ready To Go page. Disco 2000 came from Jarvis Cocker and Pulp, appearing on 1995’s Different Class and peaking at number 7, with the full story on the Disco 2000 page. Put Your Hands Up was written and performed by Reef for their 1997 album Glow, covered properly on our Put Your Hands Up page. Cigarettes & Alcohol, penned by Noel Gallagher for Oasis and taken from their 1994 debut Definitely Maybe, reached number 7 in the UK, with more detail on the Cigarettes & Alcohol page.

Acoustic Duo, Edgbaston, Birmingham, August 2018

Britpop Reunion play as a solo act, duo, trio or full quartet depending on the booking, and here we’re a duo at a bar in Edgbaston, working through Country House by Blur, Made Of Stone by Stone Roses and Bitter Sweet Symphony by The Verve. Country House was written by Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon and became Blur’s first UK number one in 1995; there’s more on the Country House page.

Made Of Stone was written by Ian Brown and John Squire of The Stone Roses for their 1989 self titled debut, reaching number 20 in the UK on re-release, with a live performance on our Made Of Stone page. Bitter Sweet Symphony was written by Richard Ashcroft of The Verve, credited alongside Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones, taken from 1997’s Urban Hymns and reaching number 2 in the UK; hear our version on the Bitter Sweet Symphony page.

Headlining G-Fest To 3,000 People, Leeds, July 2018

Headlining this festival meant the whole crowd singing along to Oasis, Robbie Williams, Deep Blue Something and plenty more. We put more into these shows than most 90’s covers bands bother with, which is part of why we keep a running vlog of the travelling involved in playing 90’s weddings, 90’s festivals, 90’s birthday parties and everything between. This is us at G-Fest.

60th Birthday, Normanton On The Wolds, Nottinghamshire, May 2018

A proper family celebration for Miles and everyone close to him. One highlight of the night was Parklife, written by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree of Blur, the title track from their 1994 album, which reached number 10 on the UK Singles Chart. Wedding Band Footage, Leicestershire, August 2017

Plenty of UK couples land on us first when choosing their wedding band, largely because we know how a reception actually unfolds and what guests want from the night. Our musicians take any last minute hiccups in their stride and rarely let it show in the performance. Among the songs that night was the Oasis classic that asks whether it’s worth the aggravation to find yourself a job when there’s nothing worth working for.

Festival Wedding In A Field, Leicestershire, July 2017

Organised entirely by a Bride and Groom who are genuine 90’s music fans, this festival style wedding gave us plenty of room to stretch out as their 90’s tribute band, including a good run through Stone Roses material. Further footage like this lives on our 90’s YouTube channel.

I’m A Believer, Norfolk, April 2016

Over 750 paying guests turned out for this sold out ticketed show in Norfolk, where the crowd went properly wild for I’m A Believer by EMF, featuring Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer. Written originally by Neil Diamond, the Reeves and Mortimer version reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart in 1995. The song’s full history is on our I’m A Believer page, and it’s still one that lands with a crowd every single time we play it.
