Made Of Stone by The Stone Roses Cover Live by Britpop Tribute Band
This single was taken from The Stone Roses debut album (also called The Stone Roses) and has gone down in British musician history. As the Manchester based band were playing it live on BBC TV’s The Late Show the power went off in the studio mid song and singer Ian Brown had a rant about how amateur the show was and how they were trying to make a fool of the band.
Band members of The Stone Roses are:
Ian Brown – Vocals
John Squire – Lead guitar
Mani – Bass guitar
Reni – Drums / backing vocals
Lyrics to Madchester band The Stone Roses “Made of Stone”:
Your knuckles whiten on the wheel
The last thing that your hands will feel
Your final flight can’t be delayed
No earth just sky, it’s so serene
Your pink fat lips let go a scream
You fry and melt, I love the scene
Sometimes I fantasise
When the streets are cold and lonely
And the cars they burn below me
Don’t these times fill your eyes
When the streets are cold and lonely
And the cars, they burn below me
Are you all alone?
Is anybody home?
I’m standing warm against the cold
Now that the flames have taken hold
At least you left your life in style
And for as far as I can see
Ten twisted grills grin back at me
Bad money dies, I love the scene
Sometimes I fantasise
When the streets are cold and lonely
And the cars they burn below me
Don’t these times fill your eyes
When the streets are cold and lonely
And the cars, they burn below me
Are you all alone?
Is anybody home?
Guitar solo
Sometimes I fantasise
When the streets are cold and lonely
And the cars they burn below me
Don’t these times fill your eyes
When the streets are cold and lonely
And the cars, they burn below me
Are you all alone?
Is anybody home?

Lyrics to Basket Case by Green Day
Do you have the time, to listen to me whine
About nothing and everything all at once
I am one of those melodramatic fools
Neurotic to the bone no doubt about
Sometimes I give myself the creeps
Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me
It all keeps adding up, I think I’m cracking up
Am I just paranoid am I just stoned?
I went a shrink to analyse my dreams
She said it’s lack of sex that’s bringing me down
I went to a whore, he said my life’s a bore
So quit my whining cuz its bringing her down
Sometimes I give myself the creeps
Sometimes my mind plays trick on me
It all keeps adding up, I think I’m cracking up
Am I just paranoid ah yeah yeah yeah
Oy oy
Grasping to control
So I’d better hold on
Sometimes I give myself the creeps
Sometimes my mind plays trick on me
It all keeps adding up, I think I’m cracking up
Am I just paranoid am I just stoned?

Friends Theme Tune I’ll Be There For You by The Rembrandts cover by Britpop Reunion
The original song by The Rembrandts was released in 1995. Prior to this it wasn’t actually a fully completed song as it was just a one minute theme tune written JUST for the show. After the success of the first season of Friends the bands record label insisted they made it a full complete song. So The Rembrandts added extra parts including a middle 8. (Only true Friends fans know the lyrics to the middle eight section of the song though we always say). The single performed incredibly well in charts across the world throughout the nineteen nighties.
All the guitar parts and harmonies are there from the original song in our live version of this classic 90s tv show. The audio was taken straight from the desk and no magic or trickery has been performed on it. Breakfast At Tiffany’s cover version by Britpop Reunion
Live at a UK festival.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s Lyrics.
This song has just two verses and the same chorus sung throughout. The first verse is sung again instead of there being a third verse, but that’s what makes it a great pop song that everyone can remember the lyrics too
Verse
You’ll say we’ve got nothing in common,
No common ground to start from,
And we’re falling apart.
You’ll say the world has come between us,
Our lives have come between us,
Still I know you just don’t care.
Chorus
And I said what about Breakfast at Tiffany’s,
She said I think I remember that film and
As I recall I think we both kind of liked it
And I said well that’s the one thing we’ve got.
Verse
I see you the only one who knew me
And now your eyes see through me,
I guess I was wrong.
So what now it’s plain to see were over,
And I hate when things are over,
With so much left undone.

Chords to Live Forever by Oasis
This is a quite simple song to play with only 7 chords.
G D Am7 C D – E – F
This is one of those strange songs where it’s hard to tell which is the chorus and which is the verse. Does the song start with a chorus “Maybe, I don’t really want to know…” or is there no chorus at all? You decide.
Live Forever (Oasis) acoustic cover by Andrew Starkey
Lyrics to the Oasis song Live Forever
The lyrics to this classic Oasis song released in on the 8th August 1994 from the debut Oasis album Definitely Maybe are reasonably easy to remember as they repeat themselves. This is apart from the “Maybe I will never be…” section which is only sung once.
Maybe I don’t really wanna know
How your garden grows
‘Cause I just wanna fly
Lately, did you ever feel the pain
In the morning rain
As it soaks you to the bone?
Maybe I just wanna fly
Wanna live, I don’t wanna die
Maybe I just wanna breathe
Maybe I just don’t believe
Maybe you’re the same as me
We see things they’ll never see
You and I are gonna live forever
I said maybe I don’t really wanna know
How your garden grows
‘Cause I just wanna fly
Lately, did you ever feel the pain
In the morning rain
As it soaks you to the bone?
Maybe I will never be
All the things that I wanna be
Now is not the time to cry
Now’s the time to find out why
I think you’re the same as me
We see things they’ll never see
You and I are gonna live forever
Maybe I don’t really wanna know
How your garden grows
‘Cause I just wanna fly
Lately, did you ever feel the pain
In the morning rain
As it soaks you to the bone?
Maybe I just wanna fly
Wanna live, I don’t wanna die
Maybe I just wanna breathe
Maybe I just don’t believe
Maybe you’re the same as me
We see things they’ll never see
You and I are gonna live forever
Gonna live forever
Gonna live forever
We’re gonna live forever
Gonna live forever
Gonna live forever
Gonna live forever

Verse: Asus4 G
Bridge: Em D Cadd9 G – Em D Cadd9
Chorus G Asus4 Cadd9 Em D – Em D Cadd9

Lyrics to Cast No Shadow by Oasis
Here’s a thought for every man
Who tries to understand what is in his hands (what’s in his hands)
He walks along the open road of love and life
Surviving if he can (surviving if he can) (Second time around: But only if he can)
Bound with all the weight of all the words he tried to say
Chained to all the places that he never wished to stay
Bound with all the weight of all the words he tried to say
As he faced the sun he cast no shadow
As they took his soul they stole his pride x 3
As he faced the sun he cast no shadow
As you will see the entire song is simply repeated from the start again with the exact same lyrics apart from Noel’s call back changes from “Surviving if he can” to “But only if he can” second time around.

Damon Albarn, Liam and Noel Gallagher, Brett Anderson, Gaz Coombes and Jarvis Cocker were the main singers and song writers in what started out life as just “Indie” music that then became a movement known as Britpop. Britpop was a cultural phenomenon that swept across the United Kingdom in the mid-1990s, capturing the hearts and minds of music enthusiasts with its infectious blend of rock, pop, and quintessential British sensibilities. This genre emerged as a response to the dominance of grunge and alternative rock from the United States, offering a refreshing and distinctly British alternative that celebrated the country’s rich musical heritage.
At its core, Britpop was a celebration of British identity, with bands drawing inspiration from the country’s cultural icons, fashion trends, and social commentary. The music was characterised by catchy melodies, anthemic choruses, and lyrics that resonated with the experiences of everyday Britons. From the working-class narratives of Oasis to the tongue-in-cheek observations of Blur, Britpop provided a soundtrack for a generation seeking to reclaim their national pride.
The Rise of Brit pop
The origins of Brit pop can be traced back to the early 1990s, when bands like Suede and Blur began to gain popularity with their unique sound and style. However, it was the release of Oasis’ debut album “Definitely Maybe” in 1994 that truly ignited the Britpop craze. The album’s raw energy and unapologetic swagger struck a chord with listeners, and the band’s rivalry with Blur fuelled a friendly competition that propelled both bands to new heights.
As Britpop gained momentum, other bands such as Pulp, Supergrass, and The Verve joined the fray, each contributing their own distinct flavour to the genre. The music was accompanied by a resurgence of British fashion, with bands embracing the iconic styles of the 1960s and 1970s, from mod suits to Union Jack prints.
The Legacy of Britpop
While the Britpop era eventually faded in the late 1990s, its impact on British culture and music remains indelible. The genre not only revived the country’s music scene but also instilled a sense of pride and identity that resonated with millions of fans. Britpop’s influence can still be heard in the works of contemporary British bands, who continue to draw inspiration from the genre’s infectious melodies and unapologetic attitude.
Today, Britpop Reunion pays homage to this iconic era, bringing the energy and spirit of Britpop to audiences around the world. With their authentic sound and electrifying performances, they transport listeners back to a time when British music ruled the airwaves and captured the hearts of a generation.
