It’s fantastic when a festival puts this much effort in to promote a live event. This is why the event sold out in record time. We performed on a large raised & covered stage set up on Claygate Recreation Ground with a 10k watt PA rig. Those are some nice big banners don’t you think?

What our 90s Birthday Party Band set out to achieve.
As with any business thats been around as long as ours people come and people go. You live, you learn, you love, you win some, you lose some but most of all you have to evolve. We weren’t the first Britpop tribute90’s birthday party band out there by any means, but we did instantly take it to the next level. We felt that it could all be done a lot better than what was around at the time. It could sound better and it could look better with much higher quality promotional videos and web content.
Then in 2020 we turned six years old.
Our tribute band is run like a very tight ship…..like a a high-end wedding & party band. We created a professional sound and stage show, something which was sorely missing in our chosen genre of music. Wearing a union jack t-shirt on stage (Or union jack shoes…urggh) performing 15 Oasis songs and claiming to be “Authentic 90’s” just wasn’t going to be good enough for us.
Then in 2021 we celebrated seven years together as a band.
Then in 2022 we had our 8th birthday.
We combined period guitars with original 90’s clothing and utilised the latest in sound and lighting technology available. We jumped around on stage enjoying ourselves rather than standing still glued to the spot. It gave us a huge edge over any other Britpop 90’s tribute band out there. We are different, we are professionals.
How our promotional material is miles ahead of anyone else’s.
With promotional material we thought long and hard about how we wanted to convey what the band were all about before ever hitting record on a video camera. We spent many hours working out where to take decade appropriate promotional photos before pressing the shutter button. We didn’t just stand in front of the mens toilets at a local pub and have our mate take a picture with his camera phone and call that “Promo”. Oh no, no, no, that is simply not good enough for our professional band.
Our live promotional videos speak for themselves. 100% live audio with multiple camera angles. Showing not only the amount of fun the band have while on stage but also guests honest and open reactions too….We’re smiling with you, not scowling at you. No other 90’s tribute band were producing videos of this quality and they still aren’t to this very day. Why? Because it’s a LOT of hard work to set up, edit and get right. We thoroughly embrace the written Blog and video Vlogs. They are a great insight as to what happens when clients book us for their events. Again this all takes a LOT of effort.
What we have achieved in the last five years.
We have achieved absolutely everything we set out to achieve over the last five years and so much more. We’ve headlined festivals to over 4000 punters and played at countless private parties, weddings and birthday parties. Also we’ve performed for 500+ guests at corporate events, sold out 750 tickets at our 90’s events and sent students crazy at university parties. It’s never bothered us if we perform to 50 people or 5000 people. We always put on the same amazing show. Being a professional band we charge a premium for our services. Unlike most other 90’s tributes we won’t accept low paid work, nor will we work for “Exposure pounds”. We are worth more than this and most importantly our time is worth more than this to us.
The “Competition”
Over the years we’ve been copied and ripped off left right and centre by wannabes. It’s actually been fun to watch. Most of the “Competition” have no idea how to successfully run a professional band. They simply do not realise the hours a day/week/month/year that need to be put in to be a successful band. We’ve watched similar acts come along – mouth off about how they are “The Best” (In that none humbling Noel Gallagher esque manner) – not manage to get any decent paid work as they dont have the chops or promotional material to back up their claims (Dodgy mobile phone footage with distorted audio is not quality promotional material). Most then discover it really is too much effort to compete with us and we watch the bands collapse in on themselves.
The future of 90s Birthday Party Band ‘Britpop Reunion’.
The future for ‘Britpop Reunion’ holds much more of the same that we’ve achieved over the last 5 years. We will continue to charge a premium to perform at weddings, parties, corporate events and festivals. As the saying goes “You get what you pay for“. We will continue to perfect and evolve and strive to keep on pushing forward with what you should expect to see and receive from a high end tribute band. We are at the top of our game and up there with the best professional tribute acts in the country. As much as we hate the term, we really are the UK’s only “Premium” Britpop & 90s tribute band out there. Claims we really can back up through our videos, images, reviews and the flow of high end work we are consistently booked for.
So here’s to 2022, 2023, 2024 etc and another five years of being a successful 90’s tribute band helping clients relive the best decade of music ever. If you’ve booked us before, thanks for trusting a professional party band. If you’re reading this because you’re considering booking our 90’s live band then you’ll be in good hands.
‘You & Me Song‘ (released 1994) by The Wannadies from the album ‘Be a Girl’.
How many amazing albums were released in the nineteen nineties eh? It’s unbelievable. Imagine a whole night of these fantastic 90’s tunes with a nineties looking band performing them live for you? If this is the era of the music you love then get in touch with Andrew Starkey for a quote.
It’s was great news to hear that Supergrass had reformed and were touring again wasn’t it. But now thats all over again as they have returned back to their solo careers and new bands. So now surely now it’s time for a Supergrass tribute band right? Britpop Reunion are available to hire for your event performing their biggest hit ‘Alright‘ which reached number 2 in the UK singles chart back in July 1995. The Britpop band were unfortunately pipped to the top of the charts by ‘Boom Boom Boom’ by Eurodance band Outhere Brothers. Supergrass Tribute live performance video of Alright
‘Britpop Reunion‘ get to perform at huge (and small) events up and down the country. Here we are performing the Super grass song Alright at The Hilton Glasgow for the 25th annual Hospitality Industry Trust (HIT). It’s all totally live in this video, we really will sound this good as a professional tribute band at your event too. Most of our videos are all completely live as we’re not trying to hide anything from you. No other 90’s band goes to this extent to prove to you what they do week in week out. And no other band produced the quality of videos we produce.
Andy Starkey, lead singer and bass player from Britpop Reunion has been a huge fan of Supergrass his whole life. He even remembers the first time he heard ‘Richard III’ on the radio
“It was about February 1997 and I was driving to my rehearsal studio that I had in Wolverhampton at the time. I was driving around the Cannock McDonalds islands towards Wedges Mills. I had BBC Radio One ‘The Evening Session’ on (presented by Steve Lamacq and Jo Whiley) in my little Mini. The crummy Sony cassette car radio was doing its best to stay tuned into the song Richard III. I didn’t even know it was a Supergrass I was listening to”.
“I said to myself “Wow, this new Smashing Pumpkins song is amazing”. Then Steve says after the song finishes “And that was the new single from Supergrass”…..My mind was blown. This was a huge departure in sound for Supergrass from their debut album I Should Coco. I knew ‘In It For The Money’ was going to be something very special and different that I just had to own.”
Supergrass Memorabilia
Andy first saw Supergrass with The Bluetones supporting on Saturday 18th February 1995. As you will see below he still has the original poster that he “Borrowed” from off the wall in Rugeley Red Rose Theatre.
Throughout the years Andy saw Supergrass live on many, many more occasions. He picked up lots of great memorabilia including this very limited edition Chinese design tea towel.
Supergrass Tribute studio recording of Alright
Have a listen to our very own studio recording of Alright by Supergrass below. Can you believe it’s been streamed over 152,000 times? Thats got to mean it sounds super special right? You’ll find its a very close match to the original performed with all the fun and charm. We probably had as much fun recording it as Supergrass did back in the early 90’s.
Maybe one day ‘Britpop Reunion’ might add in some of Supergrass’s other greatest hit songs too like:
Richard III
Sun Hits the Sky
Pumping on Your Stereo
Caught by the Fuzz
Mansize Rooster
Moving
Going Out
What are the names of the members of Supergrass?
Gaz Coombes (Vocals / Guitar)
Mick Quinn (Backing Vocals / Bass Guitar)
Danny Goffey (Drums)
Rob Coombes (Keyboards)
‘Britpop Reunion’ also perform tonnes of other massive Britpop repertoire hits like Don’t Look Back In Anger, Parklife, Day We Caught The Train, Rocks, Wonderwall, Country House and more. You really will be back in the 90’s when you book our 90’s tribute band.
